Wahler Equine
Consulting and Education for the good of the horse
Brenda was either born with the "horse bug," or developed it young as her father led her around on ranch horses when she was a toddler. After surviving a trial by Shetland Pony, she graduated to a half-Arabian at age nine and started showing horses in the 1970s. In those times, "versatility" was prized in the Intermountain West, and a true horsewoman was expected to be competent in both English and Western riding styles.
Brenda began teaching riding lessons while still in high school, worked through college as a horse trainer, and by the 1990s combined a career as a social studies teacher with judging open and 4-H horse shows, conducting clinics, and teaching adult education classes on horse management. Shifting focus to her law practice in 2002, Brenda founded Wahler Equine to provide education and consulting services that fall outside the traditional lesson/training/clinic realm. Still a teacher at heart, as well as a lifelong scholar and student of the horse, she advocates for best practices (classic or modern) in riding, breeding, management, handling, and care.
Brenda started blogging as Wahler Equine on WordPress in 2016. Her old blog posts are archived here.
